I did this twice, and by the end of the second BR, the CO's icon on the map was flashing red. Once I got into Blood Rage, I continued dishing out Charge Drivers on the CO's face, only this time I was dealing 20-30k damage a hit. With my bullet, I dealt around 6k damage per shot, allowing me to enter Blood Rage in five or so shots. Missing crystals 26, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35.
